Lumecca IPL Laser in Altrincham
What is Lumecca?
Lumecca is one of the most powerful intense pulsed light (IPL) devices available, delivering up to 3x more energy to improve the appearance of pigmentation, sun damage, freckles, age spots, uneven skin tone, rosacea, thread veins, general skin discolouration, port wine stains, and skin lacking overall radiance.
Lumecca is a powerful, safe and effective solution for those seeking innovative IPL therapy to combat a wide range of skin imperfections. With its cutting-edge high-intensity light pulses, Lumecca expertly treats discolouration and vascular concerns, improves skin texture and reduces pore size whilst providing the radiant & even skin tone you deserve.
Through its cutting-edge photo thermolysis process, Lumecca delivers meticulously controlled pulses of light, directly targeting the areas of concern. The energy is absorbed by pigmented spots or blood vessels, causing them to break down and gradually fade away, while simultaneously triggering the body’s natural healing response, encouraging collagen and elastin production for overall skin revitalization, all with minimal downtime. Trust Lumecca to nourish and rejuvenate your skin like never before!

How many sessions of Lumecca will I need ?
The number of recommended sessions can vary based on individual skin concerns and treatment goals. In many cases, significant improvements can be seen after just one session, but a course of three sessions usually yields the best outcome. In some cases, depending on the severity of the skin concern, more sessions may be required. We offer single sessions, courses of three, and courses of six to facilitate all clients.
We recommend treatments every 4 weeks initially, then when you are happy with your treatment outcome you can keep on top of your results with a maintenance session every 6-12 months for optimal results.
Is Lumecca safe for all skin types?
Lumecca is safe for Fitzpatrick I-V. We do not recommend Lumecca for Fitzpatrick VI.
What downtime is assosicated with this treatment?
Following Lumecca skin treatment, you may notice some immediate improvements in skin tone and texture. Over the next few days and weeks, pigmented spots and vascular lesions will gradually fade, and your skin will become clearer and more radiant. This treatment affords you minimal downtime with maximum results.
Can I treat Melasma with Lumecca?
While IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) has shown remarkable results in treating various skin concerns, we do not recommend using Lumecca in the treatment of melasma. We are always honest with our clients about their suitability for treatments, if we feel that there are safer and more effective treatment modalities we will advise accordingly. In the case of Melasma, intense-pulsed light carries a risk of heating the surrounding skin, which is thought to worsen melasma.
To treat melasma, sun protection, topical medications and cosmetic procedures often are combined to achieve the best results.
We would recommend The Cosmelan De-Pigmentation Programme or the Obagi Medical Nu-Derm System with Obagi Blue Radiance Peel. The best thing to do is book a consultation so that our skin experts can advise the best course of treatment.
Will Lumecca prevent future pigmentation?
Lumecca will treat the pigmentation and discolouration present at the time of treatment, it will not prevent further pigmentation. Your skin expert will design a tailored homecare plan that includes tyrosinase inhibitors, antioxidants, broad spectrum sun protection, and if needed prescription ingredients to manage your melanin production post treatment. As discolouration is impacted by so many intrinsic and extrinsic factors, we will always ensure that you are placed on a comprehensive homecare plan specifically for the management and prevention of pigmentation. You do not have to go onto a homecare plan post treatment, but you may experience new pigmentation if you are exposed to UV rays without the appropriate protection from your homecare.
Is Lumecca suitable for Rosacea & Facial Redness?
Yes, Lumecca is an effective treatment for addressing facial redness and rosacea. The IPL technology targets the excess blood vessels causing the redness, leading to a reduction in red patches and a more even skin tone.
Can Lumecca treat broken capillaries?
